A possible three bedroom house for renovation, this house is pretty and quirky with a walled courtyard, C-shaped deck running right around the house and lots of small storage rooms around the courtyard.

The property is in a small village called Ervideira, only 5 minutes drive or a half hour walk into Vila Nova de Poiares, a pretty town with two banks, supermarket, numerous shops and cafes, a medical centre and a weekly market every Monday morning, a little further out of town there is also a Go-Kart track and bowling alley with nightclub. This town is increasingly popular with UK expats because of it’s proximity to Coimbra (only 20 minutes along a scenic road) and therefore easy accessibility to the airports at Porto (1hr by train from Coimbra) and Lisbon (2hrs) Coimbra also has a wide range of shops, restaurants, shopping malls and cinemas, there is also the famous University, football stadium and a large hospital.

The charm of this property is in its traditional design, large deck and courtyard, which gets sun all day long. It would make a great house for a large family who like entertaining, especially with covered areas in the secure courtyard for young children to play. Because of it’s location it would also make a good Bed and Breakfast with the downstairs rooms to rent, with a bit of reorganizing, each of the three downstairs rooms could have an en-suite shower and toilet.
